The city seen forward is Kobe city area. Kobe... this city is the damaged district of the Hanshin Awaji great earthquake disaster that happened 17 years ago. We took each other's hands with a hand, while having sorrow, and concentrated all energy on the revival of this city at that time. And now the light of the city emits brightness as if nothing happened. On March 11, 2011, we met with a big trial again. We just stepped by one step of the long distance on the day. We must get over sorrow and hardship and continue walking a way of the revival bravely again. One year has passed since then.... We have advaced by a feel while still having many serious problems. But we could be tough by the great support from friends, companies and governments in all the world. We received thoughtful words and marciful activities of people of the world and shed tears of gratitude as much as the amount of tears of sadness. I was given these words many times..."We are always with you." What beautiful words ! They just lighted up our step and became a signpost like the light in this photograph. I pray for the souls of many victims and at the same time I thank deeply for the beautiful heart of world people. While testing Basiin (the bookmarklet creation framework I wrote) I spent a lot of time around sites that were hosting images. After all what a better way to measure upload performance other than doing multiple image uploads via script tags?
After cleaning up all the redundant images I ended up with a handfull I couldn't part. It might be a bit confusing but I chose to showcase these artworks here, after all they are images that affect me. Smartly enough the upload mechanism I was testing basiin with included metadata and scraped site tags, titles etc. so the refferences are right there. Links to the originals should be displayed below each image.
enjoy.
